A Swarm of Fishes

A Swarm of Fishes

Water transparent in the river

A swarm of fishes golden-silver

Spring midday of a countryside

Elda Fulchery, an Italian Guide

Walk past by the bank of  a canal

We’re talking about the channel

By chance a big fish put its head

Above the clear water bed

Followed by hundreds of small fishes

People throw the waste and ashes

Leaves, plastic packets and stone,

Water hyacinths  are clearly shone

Mind goes back in childhood days

When spent the summer in waters and rains

If it was thirty years back

The fishes would have remained in my pack.
