Teachers' Day: Remembering My Teachers
Dr. Keshab Chandra Mandal
Happy Teachers' Day. On this auspicious occasion, I touch the feet of all my teachers and seek blessings. My teachers, after my parents, are the best people in this world. I pray to God Almighty for their good health and well-being. My University Teachers Professor Amartya Mukhopadhyaya, Prof. Dipankar Sinha, Prof. Partha Pratim Basu, Prof. Malyashree Mukherjee, Prof. Aneek Chatterjee, Prof. Uddolok Roy are gems of the academic world. Late Prof. Tarun Chandra Bose and late Prof. Prasanta Sengupta were so great people that I still remember their words and teachings, and follow them accordingly. My Ph. D. supervisor, Prof. Anil Kumar Jana, another great academician, and teacher, who taught me the best practices of research and made me what I am today. His contribution is unforgettable in life. I pay respect to Prof. Parimal Kanti Sarkar, my teacher in Class XI & XII, Dr. Dipankar Debnath,
the ex H.M. of Birnagar High School, Parimal Ckakladar- the Games Teacher, late Kajal Babu of High School, and Tulsi Mastermosoi, Basanti Didimoni, Laxmi Didimoni of Primary School were excellent teachers. I remember the pinching of Tulsi mastermosoi in the belly if attended school without preparing lessons, and became absent-minded ever. I miss all the punishments, advice, suggestions, and assistance in my academic life. Many other teachers have so much contribution in life. Prof. Joy Shankar Bose of Chakdaha College, late Prof. Swaroop Roy, Prof. Sibnath Banerjee, late Prof. Nijan De Chowdhury, who inspired me a lot. Prof. NDC - Nijan De Chowdhury - used to say "English is a flowery language". He taught me the definition of a true friend - Most of them are pebbles available on the sea beach, but only a few are gems, who stands by both good and evil times. Many other teachers of other universities - Prof. Deb Narayan Modak, Prof. Bimal Shankar Nanda are also some great teachers and good human beings. Some of my students are also good friends, and 'teachers' too, who teach me how to be constantly obedient, sober, and respectful to their elders, parents, and above all "Teachers." I love them all.
I pray for all of you. The world is beautiful only for you.
