Sunyogi Umasankarji’s Miraculous Escape from Imprisonment in Iran by the Grace of Babaji Maharaj – A Truth

Sunyogi Umasankarji is travelling and spreading Sunyoga since last one decade in the world. As part of his mission to spread sunyoga and universal peace and brotherhood he has travelled in many countries of the world including France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia, Mongolia, Malayasia, Indonesia, Thailand and others. He has received tremendous response from a wide range of people in the world who have become his devotees and followers. Many of whom are practicing sunyoga in their daily life to lead a better and balanced life.

  With his aim of teaching sunyoga and the spreading the mantra of universal peace, happiness and universal brotherhood among all sections of the people he travels everywhere with only a small piece of white cloth and his small laptop and a mobile phone. Lately he was invited by his Iranian followers to deliver lectures on spiritualism and teach sunyoga in the North part of Iran near Teheran. Responding to the call of his devotees he boarded from Kolkata Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on 2^nd July. On the following dawn he reached at Tehran airport via New Delhi. His followers received him there and took him to the meditation camp by a car. It was a four-hour journey by four-wheeler from the airport to the training camp on the Sunyoga beginners’ course he where he was to train some fifty highly qualified professional followers of Sunyoga and its multi-faceted benefits in the modern world for maintaining a balanced life.

   In sunyoga, people look at the sun and get direct energy from the sun, which is the source of all energies. Keeping the retina above the corner, through the middle of the two eye-brows looking at the sun, connecting with a cosmic energy which is the source of our life is called sunyoga. This practice has tremendous positive effect in one’s entire body, soul and mind. If one practices in this way, the sun rays will not fall directly on the retina, because through this method people look through the white part of the eye. However, after continuously practicing for a few months, when one’s resistance power will improve, he can look through the eyes. There will not be any bad impact upon his eyes. It has been proved already. All kinds of problems related to eyes could be removed through this method of meditation. When centering the agyachakra, the cosmic energy is taken, then the pineal gland of human body receives the cosmic energy and it sends the same to the cerebellum. In this way through metabolism, this energy transforms into five element energy and goes to cerebrum.

Then it starts working. The 2 percent of unresolved and disputed thoughts of our brain which grow from childhood days get balanced one by one. What are the unresolved thoughts? Umasankarji makes it understand by giving a simple example. He says, when we open files and folders one by one of our computers, and if we do not close those windows automatically the computers get hung. Similarly, since our childhood days there are so many disturbances, unresolved and undisputed thoughts, which increase with the increase of age. These unresolved, unsavory, and unsatisfactory thoughts hang up our life computer and create problems in our life. All the problems come from the imbalance of the above five elements. The cosmic energy resolves and balances those unresolved thoughts and habits and makes one perfect, calm and balanced. That is why the saints, sadhus, desireless and demandless saint-like creative people like Ramakrishnadev, Mahavir Jain, Goutam Buddha, Hazarat Muhammad, Jesus Christ, Rabindranath Thakur, Swami Vivekananda were calm and peaceful. It is to be remembered that, without mental peace and happiness, one can never concentrate on any creative work and can never achieve perfection in that. By practicing sunyoga, peaceful cosmic energy can be gained which will run through the body, soul and mind of a person and make one calm, peaceful and energetic. The cosmic energy has the power to balance together our spiritual, mental, economical, physical, emotional, vital and psychological imbalances. Not only that, it controls high blood pressure and brings down the level of sugar in our blood and balance it with our body. Besides, through regular practice of sunyoga the other imbalances of our body, soul and mind can be balanced.

   The method of receiving cosmic energy through the sun for removing all imbalances of life is called Sunyoga. With a view to train up people of Iran, Swami Umasankarji went to Tehran on 2^nd July, 2014. This was his fourth such trip; the first one was held in 2011 and consequently he has been visiting Iran every year since then. But during the latest spiritual visit, he faced an unimaginable and bizarre incident which made him surprised and fell in a quandary. The incident was like the following –

   The training camp on beginners’ course in the north part of Iran was supposed to start at 7.30 a.m. on the 3^rd of this instant. Accordingly the yoga class started at the predestined time and place. Surprisingly, within two hours of the yoga class, the camp was surrounded by Iranian police and some seven or eight police went inside the camp with video camera. The training camp was attended by a group of highly qualified engineers, officers, professors, and other professionals and of both genders. In no time they started to interrogate and began mental torture to all the people present in the camp.

   That torture goes on for three hours. The police started asking some peculiar and shocking questions to the yoga practitioners and particularly to Swami Umasankarji. They said, “Iran is an Islamic country, why are you practicing yoga? And the sun rays affect eye-sight.” In response to their questions, the Sunyogi responded: “Navi Ibrahim also practiced sunyoga. The Quran has a mention of it.” Police then get all the trainees filled up one kind of form. They were talking in Farsi, not in English. The police assumed them as the spy of the USA or Israel. There was one spiritual leader who was doing subverting works against Iran in the pretext of preaching which was in the knowledge of Iranian police. They were actually in search of that fake spiritual leader. However, initially the police considered that Umasankarji was that fake spiritual leader.

   After continuously harassing mentally for three hours, when they could not disturb the mental peace and did not get any clue, then the police arrested the Sunyogi along with four other members of the organizing committee including two men and two women. They forcibly took away laptop of Umasankarji and mobile phone. They sought for the password of the laptop also. After that they brought them directly to the court - Chalus. In the court one Hazi Saheb was sitting in the chair of judge wearing plain clothes unlike ours who wear black overcoat. Hazi Saheb, just out of doubt, orders to pay fine US$1000 to each of the detained persons. Swamiji challenged the order straightforward and with full confidence in the face of Hazi Saheb and said “You cannot punish us in mere doubt.” Being challenged by Umasankarji, the Hazi Saheb then sent all of them in the prison and ordered them to stay in prison cell until the investigation process is over. Immediately they were taken to the prison cell named Sari. They were given jail uniform – full pant and shirt. It is not like our country where procrastination in judiciary is blamed for dilly dally process in declaration of judgment. One man came instantly and holding their hands took them to the cell covering their faces with black cloths. Two women were kept in a separate cell and Umasankarji and two organizing members were also kept in separate rooms. It was felt that, “I was leaping over one after another gate. I could not see anything where they took us. Ultimately I was taken to a 10’/10’ dark cell. When my eyes were uncovered, I found only two electric bulbs in the room and there was small ventilation above in the ceiling through which I only could understand the difference between the day and night. There was one sanitary latrine and four blankets in the room. The two electric bulbs were light for 24 hours and there was one 1’/1’ small window in the gate through which food was served and jail personnel could talk with me.” It would only open when a man came to serve food and after then it was closed. As it was a roza month, there was restriction in serving food. Food was served twice a day – once in the evening and another at dawn. In the evening good quality bread of bakery, sweet porridge with rice (payesh), vegetables and black tea were served to us. And in the morning rice, vegetables, mutton and black tea were served. There was nothing in between those two times.

   After staying for three days in this horrible condition; when after thorough investigation they found nothing against Umasankarji and his followers, the police and jail authority started to interrogate within the jail premises to all the inmates separately. Umasankarji was asked, “How did you come to Iran? What is sunyoga? What are the benefits of sunyoga?” Further they asked, “Are you a spy of America or Israel?” “Is sunyoga acceptable in medical science?” Being satisfied with the behavior and responses of Umasankarji, the police offered to inform the reason of arresting them. Police said that, one of his followers had informed the police against him (Sunyogi). Police then asked Swamiji, “Why did he report against you?” Swamiji replied that, “May be the man is disturbed in his personal life; those who have lost balance in their life, may fail to bear such persons who can keep balance and maintain a peaceful and balanced life. May be that’s why he has complained against me. But still I have no complaint against him and still I consider him as my son. So, please forgive him also.” Further police asked him, “Do you have complaints against the police who have arrested you?” Umasankarji this time said, “No, I have no any complaint against the police. They have done their duty and I am doing my duties.” Police asked, “In which race did you born?” Sunyogi said, “Though I have taken birth in a Hindu family, I have no bigot. I do not make any difference among the Hindus, the Muslims, the Christians, the Parses, or the Buddhists. All are equal to me. I love and respect all people because we all get the same cosmic energy; we have the same blood and the same oxygen we are breathing. Some of us call Allah, some call Bhagwan, while others call God. Why there should be any difference among us. There is no fundamental difference among any of us. We all are equal.”

   The Sunyogi further tells that, “Iran is also my own country. And not only have the criminals come in the jail. Many scientists, spiritual leaders, and great patriots, freedom fighters were imprisoned in mere doubt and for some noble cause. It happened due to misunderstand only.” We know that Saradama once said, “Eighty per cent of our problems occur due to misunderstand only.” Swamiji then sang a song of his own composition – “Hindu noi, Muslim noi, Christan-o noi, amra je kebol-e manush, ekei hriday (No Hindu, no Muslim, no Christian, we are only human being, same heart).” Hearing the song and his arguments, all present in the room began to clap in happiness. In the interrogation session all the arrested persons were brought in a room. There were media persons also. The Sunyogi then pleaded the jail authority to forgive them, if they had done any wrong unconsciously. Then the jailor said, “I will release you, but how will you go back to your country?” In reply Umasankarji said, “The way you will direct me, I shall follow your instructions. Suddenly the jailor asked in the next moment, “If Hazi Saheb declares three years’ imprisonment, what will be your reaction?” Umasankarji said, “I am your guest. You have invited me, that is why I have come to your country. What punishment you will give, I have to accept. In spite of that, I shall urge you to forgive and release me. Hearing this with all my surprise, one jail personnel instructed to wear our jail-clothes and holding my hand took us to the cell again.”

   The Sunyogi this time apprehended that they might be imprisoned for three years in reality. He thought maybe he failed to convince them properly. Without getting any way and seeing any light of hope, he began to meditate on Mahavatar Babaji and prayed him to make them free from the jail. He thought that, he could easily spend three years by meditation, but what will happen to those four organizing members who were highly qualified and prestigious persons (doctor, professor, and engineer) of their localities. They were innocent, what sin has they and their family members done that they will suffer in the prison cell? For a long time he did not have any sense. He was in deep meditation. He began to think if somehow he could inform Kartikeyanji, the former CBI Director of India, who could make all kinds of arrangements for their release through Indian Embassy in Tehran.

   It seemed that Babaji heard his ardent prayer and came to rescue him and his other followers from jail. He got a signal from Babaji Maharaj. Miraculously, in the following morning a lawyer was sent by Indian Embassy from Tehran to plead for them. He reached in the prison by helicopter and directly came to meet him at his cell. He said to Umasankarji that, “Don’t worry. I have come to release you by legal way. I have heard that the jail authority is happy with your behavior and logical arguments. Please keep patience. I promise you to get released very soon.” Then the pleader started his personal investigation on the basis of data and information collected from him and other concerned people. That lawyer then interrogated all the four arrested persons in front of jail authority. In his argument Umasankarji put forward 11 points in favor of his innocence. He pointed out that,

“1. Iranian Embassy in Tehran granted my Visa where it was written that they were inviting me to Iran to teach Sunyoga. That Visa has granted by Indian Embassy in Delhi. So both embassies granted me permission to teach Sunyoga to Iranian people, I may call it as my Iranian family.

2. When I passed through Indian Immigration in Delhi I wrote in my form clearly for which purpose I am going to Iran. I put tick mark in others column and wrote Sunyoga.

3. At Tehran, the Immigration officer asked me for which purpose have I come to Iran and I clearly said, ‘for teaching Sunyoga’. So, the police and CBI authority granted me permission to teach sunyoga in Iran.

4. Iranian Police before arresting me did not enquire that truth and that is why this misunderstanding.

5. When first time I came to Iran in 2011, that time the value of Iranian currency was nearly 1200 to 1300 tomans for US$1. But, in 2012 when I came for the second time it was nearly 4000 tomans for US$1. Do you know why? Because in 2011-’12 one Iranian scientist invented a formula by which if any foreign country attacks Iran with missiles, atom bomb or with other destructive bombs, those will be boomeranged and hit upon the original country. This great invention was supported your by the Honorable President of Iran. This act annoyed the Superpower to impose several restrictions on your country which resulted in devaluation of your currency. I am proud for all of you because in spite of all hardships you have shown your courage and prevented all ill-designs of the most powerful country.

5.  Why do I call Iran as my family? Because, my goal is to spread the mantra of Universal Peace, Universal Unity, Universal oneness (brotherhood) among all my brethren in the world. I consider all countries as my own.

6.  I came in Iran, not for popularizing or selling medicine, but for teaching meditation. Meditation brings peace in our mind, balances our life and helps to maintain our good health.

7. You know magnet has two poles, North Pole and South Pole. North Pole is expanding towards electromagnetic energy and South Pole is contracting towards electromagnetic energy. Do we know how electromagnetic energy is expanding and contracting to the magnet? Magnet has three poles, center pole is a black hole of the magnet, which is expanding and contracting and balancing energy. Like a magnet, our body has two poles, swahsara chakra - that is North Pole, working throw intellect and muladhara chakra, the South Pole and working throw the materialistic awareness. Normally we could not balance between that and we suffer as a result. Our center pole is heart chakra, which is balancing our intellect and materialistic awareness and brings our peace of mind.

8. When we are not at the Center Pole, we are not balanced and suffer. But when we can make balance in center pole - heart chakra, then we can create unconditional love and balance between intellect and materialistic awareness. That’s why I can maintain my peaceful atmosphere everywhere and I’m trying to share my same balancing-peaceful atmosphere with all my universal family members.

9. Therefore, do you feel from the heart I am an enemy of Iran? Am I an enemy of Islam? Or am I an enemy of the law (Hajji)?

10. I beg most respectfully state to the Iranian law, Islamic law, hajji law that if we do any mistake, please show mercy to all of us.

11. All my children in Iran, those who have invited me to teach sungoya in Iran are well aware of my peace formula and got balance somewhere in their life. So they took another initiative to share their peaceful balancing life with other Iranian people to get balanced for living peaceful life. Did they do any wrong? Please show mercy to all of them also. I have deep respect for the Iranian law, Islamic law, and hajji law and also on Iranian police, who did their duty. So, I’m not blaming to them and I’m thankful to them.”

   Hearing the logical arguments of Swamiji, the jail authority and Hazi Saheb became very happy. They then withdrew all allegations against them and made all of them including four organizing members free with honor and dignity. They also did not charge any fine from Swamiji and others. Though Umasankarji and his fellow mates could not take bath for six days; though he and other inmates suffered without any sin and without any crime; though they were tortured mentally; still the good-hearted saint-like Umasankarji thanked them all and prayed for their well being. In fine, humbly he closed his eyes and said that, this miraculous release was possible only for Mahavatar Babaji’s divine grace.
